Just installed a Transfer Flow 75 Gallon Aux Tank with Trax II. Noticed I had a slow fuel leak. I removed the skid plate and noticed that I had a drip on the bottom of the forward tank. Once I touched it, it became a steady stream!! Although small, but still dumping fuel. I pumped out the tank, cleaned and dried the leaking area, applied an epoxy based tank repair...About $4.00 for a stick, for metal tanks, and it will not hold?? What is the best way to fix this, other than replacing the tank, for "Peace of Mind"...Also, I will undercoat the tank before putting the skid plate back on, any suggestions on what to use for that as well?.

I repair them with JB WELD but tank has to be empty.
Let it set up for 24 hours with some heat. I also repaired a leaking radiator on my mack truck with JB WELD after a stone hit it. That was 2 years ago and still good

I tried the asphalt-based undercoat on my tanks, but it turns back into oil if diesel spills on it. I don't know how the rubber undercoating would work.

Are there any decent diesel transfer tanks?

I am disgusted with the transfer tanks that I have purchased for my work. Almost all of them are so poorly welded that they leak. I have bought different brands from different suppliers and they end up leaking causing all sorts of problems. It is pathetic.
