I have a 2015 F350 LWB with the 37.5 gal fuel tank. Filling up the other day and fuel starts gushing from the bottom of the truck. Turns out a rodent chewed completely through the front vent on the fuel tank. The tank has two vents, one on the top front where the tank is stepped down (leaks when tank is about 2/3rds full) and one on the top rear. I was able to stick a piece of heater hose in the hole, clamp it off and put a mound of gasket sealer around the area. Seems to be working fine for now.
Ford is showing a diagram where these blue vents are not replaceable but it is obvious that they are pressed in since they are a different color.
Does anyone know if these vents can be replaced? Replacing the tank for one damaged vent isn't a good option.
How about aftermarket tanks? Should I go that route?
