I'm one of the guys who's mentioned that the "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" message isn't clearing (unless we clear it). Can't find who asked (in another thread) if we were getting the "Drive to Clean" message, but at the time I wasn't seeing it. We are getting that message. I've found that at times we will get the "Drive to Clean" message for a few seconds. Then it changes to "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" message for the entire time of the regen. The "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" message does clear when regen completes.
We're now headed eastbound and crossing various mountain ranges plus we're traveling longer distances per day. Generally the wife drives while towing, but the longer days are getting me behind the wheel more often. So I'm now front & center to read the messages. Generally travel at about 60 mph. We'll get a new rig weight reading tomorrow (each wheel - finally!), but generally we cross the CAT scales around 28,500 or less. I'm getting the "Drive to Clean" message when I floor it to merge or move into faster traffic in the left lane to pass a slower rig when climbing. Not flooring it seems to cut down how often we see the "Drive to Clean" message.
My thoughts are that when we're traveling solo (no trailer), we're not catching that quick "Cleaning Exhaust Filter" message. I'm thinking we're only seeing it when we're heavy and creating a lot of soot.
Long enough thread...sorry! David
