I need to change the gears due to the 38" tires i'm trying to run on the my truck.I know that most guys with those size tires are running 4.56's. I looking to get my gear ratio back to around a 3.55 or so with 38's. I don't want to go to lower due to the fact that i might downsize the tires in the future and don't want to have to swap gears if the change tires.

I just installed 4.30's in my truck. I have 35" tires, they are awsome, a huge difference over stock, they make the truck a little lower geared than stock, about 3.80-3.90

if you are thinking of downsizing in the future, I'd say go with the 4.30's, you'll gain back a lot of power you lost with the 38's, if you go with 4.56's and do downsize latter, I think 4.56's will be too low.

4.10's aren't much of a change form 3.73's I don't know if its worth it considering your running 38" tires....

DrSpeed is running 4.10's on his truck with the 40" goodyears. He says he likes the combo but he does have a 6 speed. I'm running 39.5" with stock gears still. I think i'm gonna go 4.30's. I think 4.56's will be having me revving too high on the highway, cuz i like to cruise at 75-80mph /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
