As someone who has only driven gas vehicles with the exception of the military diesels, I have a question.

As a newbie to diesels, what are some of the basics that I should know? I realize that this is a general question, so just give me one tip or something that you have heard to be helpful. If there is a link to an FAQ post it. I just need some place to start. Thanks.

Welcome to the site Inflatus, the first tip I can give you is list your diesel in your sig, so when you have a problem or question it will help the rest of us out. Another basic diesel fact is they are a lot more fun than gassers! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

The best advice was cast on old Caterpillar fuel caps.

"buy clean diesel and keep it clean"

the idiot 101 is the dude that decides to save a little money on taxes by tapping some stove oil out of the water drain on the bottom of his stove oil tank and dump it in his vehicle.
