I am getting a new early-build 2008 F-250 with the 6.4L. Should I get it reflashed with the new current flash before I take delivery, or wait it out a while? Are there any advantages to the new flash, or are there any possibilities that the original 05/07 build flash could generate better MPG numbers? I've read some have original flashes and have had good results with the best highway MPG numbers, and then again, I've read others pulling worse.

the latest flash is the recall and by law it has to be done before they sell it, it probly already has it becuase they usually get recalls taken care of on stock units asap.

Well, thanks for the reply, but it's a moot point now. The truck was sold out from under my dealer, so we found another one. This time, it's a 2008, Job #3. I'm hopeful it already has a good PCM regardless if it's been reflashed or not. I think the Job #3's were better than the #2 and ceratinly the #1. I'm hopeful this one's a winner. I went F-150 last time, and learned my lesson the hard way with payload (tongue weight). I was looking for a V-10 to keep Pappy happy, but none were anywher to be found in a 2008. With the $9000 rebates, I couldn't pass it up... especially on a job #3 that was only built about 5 months ago.
