I have a 1987 F250 with the 6.9L diesel engine. I need a glow plug wiring harness and I have found out that a replacement (new or used) doesn't exist in this universe. Being as the difference between the 6.9 and the 7.3 (non-turbo) is just the bore, shouldn't the 7.3 harness work on the 6.9

I would think the cylinder placement is the same, but the relays are different and so is the location of the relay. The relay for my 6.9 is on the right front fender and I hear the 7.3 is located atop the intake manifold.

The circuit to the glow plugs is simple power on power off, so if you need the harness to the gp it should be easy to run with regular wire.

Welcome to the Diesel Stop

The biggest difference in the 6.9 and 7.3 glow plugs is the connector at the top of the plugs. With a spool of wire, some ends from the auto parts store and some shrink tubing you could make your own.

If you find a 7.3 harness, I would change the glow plugs to the 7.3 style.
