Went to autozone purchased 8 Motor plugs 1/4 inch socket set etc. Pulled air box off and cannot get first cover off plug. I do not want to break plug. Am I missing something or am I being to careful. I assume the covers come straight up and off. What am I missing?

All you can do is grab the connector as low as possible and pull straight out. They do get crumbully after heat and time. If they do fall apart, just install new glow plug, and insulate it as best you can. Good luck, Tim

If money permits, you can buy a new glow plug harness

Try spraying some release agent and leave it overnight.... there are cases of the connector and GP tip being corroded together.

Make sure the size of the socket you are using is a 10 MM deep well socket with swivel. The swivel makes reaching the plugs under the injection lines more easy.

The plastic connector part gets brittle with heat and time. A simple pull should do it. Try another plug and spray if needed.

Be sure to blast with air around each GP to remove dirt and broken plastic parts before you remove any GP's. I recommend putting a large pillow over the radiator and lying on that to reach the plugs that are further back. Do one at a time, post your questions as needed.
