The prices are about the same here, regular is about $.03 cheaper than diesel. However, I made a great discovery today (for those of you like Mark who are in the area). Evans Expressmart off exit 16 in Enfield has B100 for $.50 less per gallon than dyno or B10 (today it was $2.42 as opposed to $2.94). I know where I'm filling up from now on...

Well, don't come west of the Rockies. It is over $3.10 here. It is expected to be around $4.00 by Memorial Day.

OK, so I've heard a lot of the excuses as to why gas shot up so much so fast (combination of all the crude oil price issues, plus the summer blend, plus the flushing of MBTE in favor of Ethanol, etc.)

...so how come diesel shot up just as much just as fast?! Nobody is flushing lines of MBTE in their diesel distribution system. Nobody is trucking ethanol by railcar instead of pipeline for the diesel distribution system. I'm starting to get the beginning of an inkling of an idea that maybe just maybe they're manipulating the price for extra profit. I know, I know, I hate to even utter such a rash, unthinkable idea...

China's using a lot of diesel right now. Supply and demand, yes, but blatantly ripping us off??? Nooooooooooo. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Around here it is so inconsistant, one place diesel will be 10-15 cents higher then regular gas, while a few miles away, diesel will be 20 cents lower then regular gas. Diesel ranges from $2.739 to $2.999, whhile gas is $2.849 to $3.129

Where is New Lexington, Ohio? (I'll get my atlas out afterwhile and find it)

I have seen diesel ranging from $2.94 to $2.99 today. Two Speedways, one Chevron and one Meijer's. I'll be needing fuel by the first of the week. Perhaps it'll come down...probably not until right after I fill my tank, though.

Roofeditor, are those prices per gallon or some other measure of volume (i.e. liter, pint /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif, etc)?

Duncan, you are correct about the price being high "because they can'.
Here is another item for everyone's consideration. As the time for the Gov't ULS Diesel fuel requirements kick in, the refineries and storage facilities are going to have to empty their Diesel storage tanks TOTALLY! What that means is that some fuel shipments will not be as clean and water free as has been the case. Keep a close eye (and ear) on your Diesel sound and performance. Possible clogged fuel filters and/or water in the fuel.
The refinery where I work is already producing ULS, but the change over from 300ppm to 15ppm will require emptying the storage tanks to assure the permissible ppm's can be met. I think they are planning to use some additives to replace any lost lubrication value of the Sulfur.
