I read reviews on Epinions and another site, saw some good and some bad. Would like to know more from our truck stand point. Mostly concerned with wear and wet traction, but saw some issues with balancing and bad tires. Any body seen that?

I had a '03 Dodge Dually and a '05 Ford F150 King Ranch that had them stock.

Personally, I didn't really care for them. Seemed like anytime it was wet the tires would spin at a slow takeoff. I rotated my tires every 6-10k and I saw some funny wear. I would go with the BFG KO's or Michelin LTX.

Just my two cents.

I agree with the above post. We run them on a number of our work trucks (F-150's and 250's, Dodges, Chevys) and they wear funny on every truck we have (I don't make the decision on what tires we buy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif). Don't buy them.

I had them on my truck and got about 38K out of them.
The wet/snow traction wasn't that great, but they all balanced out nice. I didn't have any funny wear from them either...maybe I got a good set.

I have a set now. Put them on at 35,000 now have 60,000. No balance or uneven wear issues. The wet traction is as good as it gets and they are quiet. I would guess they are about half worn out. I'm going to change them soon. I rarely keep tires over 3 years.

I had a set of the AT/S Goodyear's on my first PSD and they had good traction and even wear. The problem I had with them was balance issues. Even when I had them balanced they would not go down the rood smooth.

I switched to the BFG KO's and they are smooth as glass. I put 65K on my first set of BFG's and I have 50K on the set I am running now. They are still quiet and smooth as glass.

I ran a set of them in the 265 flavor on my 96 F250 work truck. I thought they were fairly good tires. Balanced ok, wore ok, quiet. The truck was a university truck on a research farm and saw a lot of off-road/farm use and they had good traction.

When I bought my X in Sept. of 2004 it had them on it. I just switched to new rims and Truxus MT's and they are a better tire. The at/s let me get stuck four times this winter, felt terrible when the road was dry and worse when wet.My X also had a squirmy feeling going over rough pavement that the MT's have helped clear up. Wear was the only good point, I had about 34,000 and still only half worn, though a little odd wear is noticable.

I had them on my 99 (305/70/16s on 16x10 wheels). They were okay, not the best tire I have ever had and not the worst. The Cooper ATs (315s) I replaced them with were much better, unfortunately they are no long made. I like the new Cooper AT/Rs I now have on my Dodge, but I only have about 8000 miles on them so I can't really comment on wear but wet traction is excellent, at least for a truck that makes 340hp and 720lb-ft at the rear tires.

I put a set on my old '96 E150 van. They were the absolutely worst mother-abusing, candy-stealing, coal-for-Christmas, spit-in-your-eye egg-sucking tires I have ever purchased. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Inside of 15k miles, one of them began to cause the van to pull, very hard to one side. The man who sold them to me (who is a friend) worked with me as we tried different things, and eventually said that the tire had developed conicity, also known as radial roll. The belt underlaying the tread had shifted. There was no warranty or pro-rated consideration, because it wasn't considered a non-operational or safety-related failure. I had to keep that tire on a rear wheel, which messed up my rotation efforts. When the second one started at about 20k miles, I replaced them all. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

This was around the time of the Ford Exploder/Firestone Spilderness ATX debacle. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Supposedly Goodyear was having trouble keeping up with the demand for replacements. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif At the cost of QC, apparently. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/vomit.gif

No more Goodyears for me, never, not ever again! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Wait a minute, I think I replaced the ATS Goodyears with RTS Goodyears. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif I don't remember for certain. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif But then I sold that van. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif Somebody else can eat those Goodyears! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif . . . /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

These days, I buy Mastercraft, which are made by Cooper. So far, so good. I like Michelins, but I don't like buying them new. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Whenever I see a parked vehicle sporting Goodyear ATS tires, I mumble to myself, 'better you than me, sucker!' /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
