well i got my dp chip (40,80,120) last night and today i got excited about modding my truck so without much forethought i got out the sawzall and hacked off the exhaust right before the muffler....my ? is anyone who has done this,how did it affect power,mileage,egt's,etc....i took my wife for a ride and she did'nt like it so i might be looking into a 4" exhaust.........btw the turbo sounds awesome now

how come woman alway like to rain on our parade. we mod our trucks and we think it is so cool, we dont have time to get our buddies, so we run in the house and bother our women just to drag them outside and then they half heartitly say "its cool", but not really knowing we really did. or they say, i like it the way it was before...classic /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Your egt's will drop some. Power gain is probably a wash. If you're going with an exhaust, I'd get a 3.5" down pipe into a 4" out the back. I lost a fair amount of low end with my 4" downpipe, the turbo just won't spool up fast enough now. I'll be getting a different downpipe when I get back from my trip to CO next week.
