Finally got around to taking some pictures of the tow truck with its new 19.5's 10 Lug Alcoas W/ 265/70R/19.5 Kuhmo 963 Highway Ribs. I love how they look and the RPM drop is nice also with the 4:10's. Washed the truck & 9 Horse and snapped some pics. Enjoy :)

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Thanks John for all your help. Doesn't look to bad with factory center caps? They need a good polishing like they had at one point in time. Not enough time for that.

32? Not sure what size it is /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif I know it's too big for the dually. Too much wear and tear on the one ton. The tow truck is being retired from over the road duty. Only local now. Her replacement will be here in August /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Let's see. That would be about 160K miles a year. I now think I have almost 1K mile on mine. (strictly local miles) LOL.

What are you going to do for brakes in the horse trailer with the Volvo tow vehicle? Air over hydraulic?

I was going to take it to Moes for its conversion... with the new truck I will leave them electric. The Volvo has a standard brake controller also. With the tractor brakes it will be hard to tell if the trailer brakes are working or not /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif Power and brakes are no longer a concern /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

sapps....looking in your pics , it looks like the dually has airbags right? Are they firestone ride-rites? i just put a set on mine not 3 weeks ago and I haul heavy as well..I dont know what your horse trailer loaded out comes to but my backhoe and trailer are about 21K. So now the question? have you ever had a tire rub the bag and ruin it? I didnt have a problem hauling anything until i loaded the backhoe and now both bags are shot...GRRRRR so I can only determine that lateral movement around a curve or turn caused the tires to rub and ruined the bags...Just curious..
TIA

Sapps, how much lift do you have on the dually? I'm thinking along the same lines when I get the motor back together.

Tom,

LOL funny you mention that, Just replaced the bags this month. I was loosing air slowly and you guessed it both bags had holes rubbed in the insides. Think we overload them? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif We should call Firestone and complain /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif This time I took a grinder to the bolts and knocked a little off for more clearance. I just added 2 springs to each side in the rear so that should take some load off of them.

Ford "X" springs up front and 2 additional springs per side with Firestone Airbags in the rear. Just barely fits up front /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Looked at Arena's spec sheet you faxed me. Looks to be 8 wide by 7.5 hi by 34' long box. Yours looks longer behind the axles than mine. I guess that is where the extra 2' are. I have not weighed mine yet. I am afraid to find out the number LOL. Planning on carrying 5 horses to Champagne Run at the (National Horse) Park in July. I'll weigh it then.

I got them from another member of this site used. They can be purchased from many places on line. Maybe others can chime in. The only one I can remember now is chromewheel.com

On edit: I saw the same picture on that site so I presume you are having it made by him. However I have one question; What will it do a 1/4 mile in?
