Today I tried to shift my truck manually to almost red line because it felt like it had been holding back under acceleration. I have a smoke problem at idle and she idles fairly rough. Well I could not get it past 3100-3200 rpm far short of the yellow line and when I backed off the throttle lots of black, I am wondering if this may have something to do with my tranny signals or the IP calveing? Any suggestions? I did post a while back and mentioned that at times when the tranny is cold it feels like it is slipping or I am doing a brake stand NO movement but only when I went from reverse to forward and cranked the wheel hard one way or the other, probably unrelated. Got me stumped. Do I need the codes read or some diagnostic done?

Starting with the rough idle, when was the last injector change done I would suspect them for the rough idle and smoke........

How old is the IP.........

If you can get codes read it would help in diagnostics.....

What condition is the trans fluid, was it and the filter changed at all......

Injectors were tested two months ago and were within 100 lbs. of new.
Do not know how old IP is do you know if there is a number on it to tell?
Codes should be read where? tranny shop?
I was going to change tranny fluid and filtre as I suspect it does not want to flow through the filtre very well until it warms and thins out some? There is not smell to the tranny fluid as of yet seems good colour as well. This may be why it feels like it slips until it warms up, again another guess.

When you replaced the injectors did you use a new copper seal.....

Check my gallery for the rebuild stamp pic, if there are none then it is probably OEM.

A shop can read codes not sure if any parts stores can out there or get a reader at Wallymart.

If trans color and smell are good then delay the filter and oil change. Not very often the filter is plugged....if you change it get the right one 2x4 and 4x4 are different.

Did not do new copper seals! I will check tonight if the re-build marks are there. Walmart has readers? I will double check tranny fluid for colour and smell.

3200 RPM,
Sounds like you beat your truck,
I've never been over 2300, 2400 RPM,
I don't understand the need
