I am a new member, but I need some help please. I have owned diesels for decades - but this engine is new to me. I have a 2001 International 4700 t444e. It was a Tennessee DOT truck, dump/snowplow/spreader. I have owned the truck for a year now and this is the first time it hasn't started. Even when the temp was in single digits the truck started on the second try. The truck runs great! I couldn't be happier with it. It sat for three weeks - then when I tried to start it - it would crank, but not start. I went through the main things and everything checked out ok. Once I ran the batteries down I but the charger/boost box on it. It cranked fine, but still would not start. The next morning I was at my wits end - and I broke one of my own rules. I gave the filter box a 1 second blast of starting fluid. The truck started right up - I could not believe it. The truck ran fine and everything seemed normal again. Until the next morning. When it wouldn't start, again. A very quick shot of starting fluid and it started right away. Once the truck ran for a couple of minutes it would start again on its own. Until the next morning. That is why I joined this forum. Is there anyone that has dealt with these Internationals with the t444e (7.3) engines? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

Have you checked your glow plugs and glow plug relay (GPR) ?

Does plugging the truck in a couple hours help with it starting?

I can't believe it - but is does not have any kind of block heater. I figured the state started it in novenber and didn't turn it off until april. It has low miles - but extreme hours!
It is different from a PSD - it has a mechanical fuel pump. On this engine the injectors are under the valve covers. I am having trouble isolating the glow plug wires.
I have checked all of the fuses - all good.
It does have a built in diagnosis system.
Here are the codes i get currently:

141 84 0 4 Vehicle Speed Signal Out of Range LOW VSS
155 171 0 3 Air Inlet Temperature Signal Out of Range HIGH IAT
325 110 0 14 Power Reduced, Matched to Cooling System Performance ECT
113 168 0 4 Electrical System B+ Voltage Out of Range LOW ECM_PWR
141 84 0 4 Vehicle Speed Signal Out of Range LOW VSS
313 100 0 1 Engine Oil Pressure Below Warning Level EOP**
