I installed a set of hi-lo hid and on every cold turn on I get the abs light on and I guess this stops my cruise control from working.
My kit has its own harness that only uses the factory plug for turning the bulbs on. I used sheet metal screws into the rad support for both ballast grounds. I also have hids in the fog lights using the factory harness.
Are the bulbs pulling to much current on start up? I also loose my speedo if this happens going doing he road.

Maybe they are poorly shielded HID's.

This kind of thing has happened before.

What do you mean by poorly shielded? I have had this kit in my impala with no issues. I had the driver side ballast grounded were the abs module was grounded as well.
ok, thanks google. I knew what that meant. Ok, should I shield the wiring or the ballast. The abs light only comes on for a second, will there be a stored code? Or do I have to catch when it happens?

Their might be a stored code. I'd check that first.

I mean the ballasts/wiring for the HID's aren't shielded and are sending out a signal that's disrupting functions on the truck.

I had to fit ferrie chokes to the ballast wires on my HID's and move them away from the ABS module, what happened was when i flicked to Hi beam the motor cut out and the ABS light came on.
All fixed now with moving the ballast and F/C's on the light harness.
