I have a 05 with just over 2000 miles on it. This site is a wealth of information but can also make you think every 6.0 is born to be a maintenance nightmare. Yesterday when I got home I gave my truck the once over looking for several of the problems, issues that I have read about in posts. You know I’m happy to say that I did not see any thing that concerned me. I have pulled 6200 lbs at speeds up to 85mph up a hill, trying to keep a Cummins behind me. Did not puke, when I looked at the top of the coolant tank I had a few drops of white residue, but it looked smeared like it had a already been wiped off. So I attributed it to spillage at some point when it was filled. No drips off the bell housing, not even the assembly lube that has been talked about. No oil on the bottom of the blue intercooler hoses. No soot on the firewall. Heck I could even get a good read on the oil dipstick. I do now understand the issue with draining the fuel filter down on the frame. After looking at the oil drain plug, decided this truck will never see one of those quick oil dump valves, looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Even checked the front hubs to make sure they unlocked all is fine. I know 2000 miles is a short distance but so far so good. If I were asked, are you happy with your truck? I would say absolutely. Would/do I recommended The Super Duty without a doubt. If you are thinking of purchasing one DO IT, treat it right, maintain it, don’t tune it and enjoy the best truck on the marked today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
