My truck has 26K miles. No mods. It continues to impress me. The thing weighs 3+ tons stock and makes little sports cars wonder what happened at the red light. It'll haul all I want, gets better MPG than my last two chevy gas trucks...and looks a heck of alot better. If it was a girl I'd marry it, if it was a plane I would darn sure fly in it!

Plus my stock tailpipe is bigger than half those little ghetto mufflers they hang on the back of their Mazdas/Hondas/whatevers. I see the angry looks and scrunched up faces as my exhaust is dang near eye level with them...another sad case of "tailpipe envy" HAHAHA

Straight pipe it and let the ricers listen to something besides their obnoxios 4 bangers. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif I like mine too, refreshing to hear something besides problems. BTW, exhaust made a world of difference!!
It's like driving a different truck !!

Glad to here that you are happy with your truck. I am also happy about my truck. 15,000 miles. I only had 2 problems with it so far but ford dealer fixed it. Oil leak from some o-ring on side of block and air leak on passenger front window. They put new weather strip in. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I Have to say I'm pretty pleased with mine overall. The reflashes have sort of ticked me off (lost the quiet idle ) ,and I had the FICM go south . But it hasn't left me on the side of the road ,either.
I'll admit I've looked at GM and DC trucks lately . But, I just can't really get off the dime to make a trade into unknown waters . So I guess I'll stick with what I have ,and see what '07 offers . John

I've had my 05 since Feb 22. 10,300 miles to date, over 4,500 miles towing. Best tank 17.8 MPG running 75 MPH empty, worst 10.1 towing my trailer while fighting a 45 MPH headwind @ 65 MPH.

This is my 3rd diesel powered Super Duty and I LOVE IT! Had 2 7.3/6-speed powered F350s before. My 6.0 is much more powerful and much easier to drive. My wife has even asked me to leave it so she can drive it, something she NEVER did with the 2 previous trucks.

I have the little car as we speak !!!
In fact, she wants another X when her car comes off lease in September...

Not sure I can swing two of them - but don't want to give up my best vehicle with the "smiley" tuner on it !!!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

OOPS! Liked it so well I got heavy footed. Now have a citation from a county mountie for 78 in a 55. Glad I slowed down some as I approached the bridge I met him on. If you're guilty you're guilty so when he asked didn't you know how fast etc. I said yeah. When he asked if there was any reason I said, "because if felt so good". Guess that wasn't very smart cause even my volunteer fire fighter tag didn't help one damn bit. Hmmmmm! Wonder if he ever got out run by a 7000+ pound truck---just a fleeting thought.

Glad to hear all this. I have an 05 Fx4 CC and love the truck. Just passed 1K mile break-in period. Reading some of the other posts was making me nervous! I had a 2000 7.3 and it was bullet proof. I just had to believe that Ford (Navistar?) put that knowledge into the 6 when they built it. I'm looking for many many miles from this truck.

I have a 05 with just over 2000 miles on it. This site is a wealth of information but can also make you think every 6.0 is born to be a maintenance nightmare. Yesterday when I got home I gave my truck the once over looking for several of the problems, issues that I have read about in posts. You know I’m happy to say that I did not see any thing that concerned me. I have pulled 6200 lbs at speeds up to 85mph up a hill, trying to keep a Cummins behind me. Did not puke, when I looked at the top of the coolant tank I had a few drops of white residue, but it looked smeared like it had a already been wiped off. So I attributed it to spillage at some point when it was filled. No drips off the bell housing, not even the assembly lube that has been talked about. No oil on the bottom of the blue intercooler hoses. No soot on the firewall. Heck I could even get a good read on the oil dipstick. I do now understand the issue with draining the fuel filter down on the frame. After looking at the oil drain plug, decided this truck will never see one of those quick oil dump valves, looks like a disaster waiting to happen. Even checked the front hubs to make sure they unlocked all is fine. I know 2000 miles is a short distance but so far so good. If I were asked, are you happy with your truck? I would say absolutely. Would/do I recommended The Super Duty without a doubt. If you are thinking of purchasing one DO IT, treat it right, maintain it, don’t tune it and enjoy the best truck on the marked today. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Why do women in leather get men so excited?

Because they smell like a new Super Duty /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
