Anyone else experienced a very hard downshift from 2-1 in Tow Haul when coming to a slow stop (crawling) running empty. I think I may have applied the brake at the same time as the ****. It doesn't do it all the time just once and a while when I decend a steep hill coming from my house.

When it happens you would think the tranny was going to drop out.

A solution would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks ....

I have had the same experience with my '05. It happens when you don't break because second is doing the job. When it kicks into first,it feels like someone hit you from behind. I find myself clicking off the tow haul under these circimstances. I have even had it happen while towing the fiver.

you need to read your book on that. it tells you where to make your settings on the tbc. you probably have it set too high for hauling emty. you can set it at any level & play around with it till you get it to the right setting desired.
