Hi there, I'm new here. I have a 92 Ford E350 7.3L diesel short bus chassie that I converted into a camper. It won't start. I have to jump the slave battery every time. It is a 50-1 series I was told. Please help. I'd really like to use this thing someday, lol. Thanks.

well, most say to get an Odyssey, but that is too spendy for me,
so I bought a Walmart with a 3 year Free Replacement warranty, and kept the Receipt in the glove box

It's not a "slave" battery since both batteries are wired in parallel and work together.

What I would do is to pull it out and take it down to a parts store. They can look at it and match it.

For best results the batteries should be replaced in pairs.

From what I found, your truck takes a Group 65 battery on the left side (pretty common size), and a Group 50 on the right side. I haven't seen a Group 50 battery readily available, but have never really looked for one.
Here's a link to Interstate Batteries. Put in your location and it should find where they're available.

Awesome thank you.

The first rule of battery replacement I've always followed is: Measure the available space and go back in with the largest (highest capacity) battery that will fit. Now, don't be ridiculous, of course, but if two group size 65's will fit, that's what I'd put in. Never had a problem doing this, and have generally gotten longer life running up-sized.

I have done that myself in the past, with Longer Life for my batteries, no matter what vehicle I am working with.

Same for my Motorcycle, upsized the battery from a puny wet cell, to a higher CCA AGM battery.

Engine starting problem resolved.
