I broke the storage part of my middle console\seat and was thinking of trying to find a console to put in and just leave the two outside sections of seat. Is that possible to remove only that? What would be a good center console to use?

I did it on a 91 Ranger w/ a 60/40 seat. Upside down I cut a small slice in the fabric,pulled out the foam,cut the steel out. Then I unbolted the rail next to it,pulled the excess fabric tight and folded under the rail, snugged up the bolts. Removed the arm rest and built my own center console, w/ ac ducts to the excab. Dont know if that will work for you but maybe help you with an idea.

My truck is set up this way. The po did the mod. The center console looks as if it cam out of a Bronco. I'll get some pics tomorrow.

some of the xlt's did come with a console only(no seat) . you could look for one of those . i don't like them much they seem to sit too low for me . but that could be just because i'm used to the fold down seat console , but my friend had a 96 with the other console and he liked it . just something to think about.
