Hi guys! can anybody share their experience of using VIN numbers to recover old vehicle window stickers? The idea of using the VIN to locate original window stickers for my truck interests me but I remain uncertain about its credibility. People who have attempted this process can share their experiences as well as any helpful advice.

Honestly I just look up VIN and door codes on my tags in the past. Gives me enough information that’s not badged on my truck.
1991 F-350 CCLB XLT-Lariat 4WD
7.3 L IDI
E4OD, BW 1356 T-case
Dana 60 KP front, Sterling 10.25 rear, 3.55 gears
9600# GVW
All of that was ascertained from an LMC catalog VIN breakdown and looking under my truck. Window sticker is cool for nostalgia to see what someone paid for undercoating back in 1991.

No one keeps window stickers this old. At most, someone would sell you their guess at what it looked like, probably using either the same sticker they use for every other customer and a few changes for your VIN, or just random info.

Why would you even want it? What do you think it will tell you that's relevant to the truck's current condition? Read this page:

Quite often posters in these types of threads will ask about finding old window stickers and then come back and tell us that they found a great site that provides the stickers and they'll post a link to that site.

All you need to do is to give them your CC information and vehicles vin number to obtain the sticker.

Neither of which I would give out in a unknown link posted on a forum.
