I am getting ready to lift my truck another eight inches or so. I am already just above the legal headlight limit. Just looking for ideas and some pictures of what you guys have done to make your truck legal again. I plan on keeping the original lights functional and in place but using lights in the bumper to be legal when I am on the street.

Thanks for the help guys,
R

Yeah, I don't really care for the removed and replaced factory look. And I don't think the law will just let you through just any old set of after market lights under your bumper and call it good. I think they have to have a high and low beam and have adjustability. I know I saw a truck one time with '06+ Mustang headlights set into a 2005+ front bumper that looked really good. Now I just can't find it again. Anybody???? Anyother ideas??

I'm thinking that snow plow lights might work built on custom brackets, they could swing out of the way when not in use...They have hi/lo and blinkers built in.. Have'nt put my theory to trial yet, waiting to talk to a REALLY cool Highway Patrol... I have bigger problems, like frame height, and mudflaps...

TBNR, the truck your thinking of wasnt mustang headlights, it was actually BMW lights. They have a kit for this.

Man, their website is crap.. looks like they took the pics of their "show" trucks with a kids disposable camera. Could'nt find any info on their kit either.. Have you seen it?

That's what I did on my '90 show truck I had. Worked very well and tucked the plow lights up under the bumper when not in use.

It was Mustang lights. I have seen the BMW lights like you were talking about too though.

Hey HugeF3Fifty how do you like those floats on your truck? Thats what I am thinking about doing. I am going to do 18.5" of lift and 425/65/22.5 Michelins that are alittle more aggressive. What size are your tires and how do they ride? Where did you get the extra extended brake lines from?

Thanks,
Robert

385/65/22.5 on 14.5 lift.. I think your 425s might rub.. my 385s do, on tight turning radius, but I have the harley edition bumper, and cant trim the valance, so if you are running the stock chrome bumper, you might be ok if you trim it up... The ride is surprisingly good.. even with 2 1/2 more inches than my old truck, the lift/tire combo is smoother.. I like the continentals, because they were less agressive, I had 40" Swampers on my old truck, and got tired of the howl, this look is a little different than everybody else, thats why I went this route.. I got my brakelines from Ryan at Superduty HQ.. they can get them in whatever length you need...

Kickin> Was your old truck a daily, or a just a show baby? Just wondering if you were ever challenged on the legality of the lights?

See pics of old truck. Snow plow lights work well. Mine were just simply mounted on custom brackets, but you could probably be more creative if you put youre mind to it. Also Hella makes square hi/lows that could be mounted anywhere you can cut the metal.
