I do not feel that this is a lifter tick because at idle the truck sounds OK. I noticed the ticking noise when I was driving on hwy and drove next to a concrete barrier for the noise to reflect off of while I had windows down. The ticking is dependent on my speed and I have half a mind to consider the Torque Converter. I put this automatic truck into neutral while at speed and the ticking may have slowed down but it absolutely did not immediately go away, but othewise I have very bad hearing and live alone. It seems to be present with o/d on and off and most noteworthy in 3rd and 4th but could be present in all gears. 2 months ago I had trans rebuilt with new TC and the trans shop was a POS but otherwise I am wondering if this could be a rocker or injector related noise? exhaust leak?
I am desperate for advice bc recently my parent died and so a relative used some loopholes to more-or-less steal alot of my property from me leaving me with only my horse trailer truck as my daily driver. I then had to rebuild my trans and now this. . .
