I have a coolant filter inline with my heater hoses. I am wanting to do a simple heater bypass, but am concerned with the filter seeing the full system pressure. My other option is the ranger mod, but this would be simpler and cheaper to do one ballb valve inline.

any ideas about that filter?

There is not a lot of experience with this desire here, but you might look up posts by Birken (6.9 forum most likely). I seem to recall that he may have done this.
