I've watched this board for years and have learned a ton about my 01 on here. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a 08 and have a couple questions. I plan to put a replacement brush guard on the truck and don't know which suspension package to go with? Do I go with the stabilizer package and add a steering damper aftermarket or go with the camper package which on a 4x4 I think is the same as the stabilizer package but has the cert. Or do I go with Heavy Service and not worry about the rear stabilizer? Thanks and sorry so long. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Assuming F-250, then

camper pkg =
[*] heavy service front springs
[*] rear stabilizer bar
[*] rear auxiliary springs

heavy service pkg =
[*] heavy service front springs

stablizer pkg =
[*] heavy service front springs
[*] rear stabilizer bar

snow plow prep pkg =
[*] requires 4x4
[*] requires heavy service pkg
[*] beefs up front springs even more
[*] extra heavy duty altenator
[*] bigger/better engine fan clutch (which improves tranny cooling).

If you're going to hang a heavy steel front end replacement off the front end, and assuming you're going to order a 4x4, then my choice would be the snowplow prep pkg. Then I would add an aftermarket Helwig rear sway bar and maybe aftermarket overload springs or RideRite air bags.

For a 4x2, I'd go for the camper pkg - unless you can't live without those silly 20" wheels and tires that are not available with the camper pkg. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I would recommend the Snow Plow Prep and Camper packages. Combined they get you the highest rated springs all the way around. It also will make the truck sit slightly taller then lesser springs and (at least on the 05/06/07's) allows the fitment of 37x12.5x18 tires on the stock wheels with no rubbing issues.
