I was pulling my fifth wheel out I70 west from Denver yesterday when I lost power and all boost. I am fairly certain my turbo is blown. I was able to get in an RV park and truck to a Ford dealer this morning. Waiting now for their call with diagnosis. Does anyone know of a good shop in Denver if I need to take truck somewhere other than Ford dealer. I will only be checking for replies for the next 30 minutes. I'm in a McDonald's where I paid $3 for 2 hours of internet.
Thanks for any help.

Here is Rocky's phone number: (303) 907-1465

And his web site: www.rspdiesel.com

He's in Ft. Lupton, just North of Denver. Great guy to do business with, and will definately shoot you straight. He won't sell you something that you don't need.

But like some others have suggested, it could be nothing more than a blown boot. Easy to fix.

IMHO please stay far away from CMP in Albuquerque. They are not good people and will rip you off! I know!

Thanks to those that responded. The Ford dealer I took truck to is Go Ford (I think formerly John Elway) and Rick in service department really worked to get me in and out. It was the turbo and new turbo was installed and I was back on road at noon. Went to RV park, got trailer and was in Leadville by late afternoon. I can't say enough good things about Go Ford. When I broke down Tuesday afternoon I called another Ford dealer in Denver and they said it would be next Monday before they could even look at truck. I checked prices for turbo at powerstrokeshop.com and another local Ford dealer and Go Ford treated me fairly. Pulled trailer out I70 and then over Fremont Pass with no problems. By the way, I had done a fairly good check of all hoses. Turbo had been making a loud whistle since last September. Figured this way just a matter of time.

In response to CMP in Albuquerque:
Went in with a tranny problem. Howling in 6th gear and clutch noise. Made me wait in the truck in 20deg weather without running engine to keep it cool (so his request). Finally got me in. Came to me and said clutch hydraulics are soft. Yeah, maybe, but that isn't the problem.
Well, I would have to change them before I continue and will cost you $600. Huh, the parts are about $150 from Ford and it takes 30min to install. Yeah, so...that's what I charge. Take it down off the rack please. Okay, you will owe me only $150 then. Really! For putting it on the rack and telling me something that doesn't have to do with the problem? Yeah.
So, I dropped my trailer at a local dealer and drove to OK City (on the way home) in 5th gear to get my 6sp reman'd.
Oh yeah, and BTW, went over to a Ford dealer on the way to OK City, purchased the master/slave assy for $123 (good guy discount) and changed it in their parking lot in a half hour. It was working, but did have a leak which I kept topped off until I got the parts. Had nothing to do with a blown tranny. Clutch disc went out due to vibration from tranny gear bad, and Blumenthal's in OK City replaced it free under warranty from South Bend Clutch with parts in stock.

Sorry this is off topic, but someone brought up Central Motive Power.
