Ill start with my setup... 2002 f250 superduty, 7.3l, 6.5 procomp lift, 37" bfgs, skyjacker dual steering stablizer.

While driving on the freeway, i suddenly noticed the front end started to feel like it was floating. I pulled over and found the torsion bar had snapped right in the middle. I tried calling 4 wheel parts to see about an aftermarket one that may be stronger, and they arent able to find anyone who makes them.

I guess Im wondering if this has happen to anyone else, or if its just a freak thing that happen to me, and also if anyone knows where i can purchase something a bit stronger since that one snapped??

Thanks in advance for any help!

Yep, thats a track bar, sorry I can't help. Just trying to figure out what you were talking about. I'll look at mine a see what can be done, one thing comes to mind is getting a length of heavy wall pipe and weld it from the eye to eye, just a thought. Never heard of one breaking, must have been a flaw.

I have this pan rod (track) bar. I believe you also need a new drop mount as well. I think you can get a cheaper bar, but you won't find a better one. Contact Donahoe Racing and tell them what you need.

Thanks for the input guys. After some research, it turns out that the track bar should be upgraded at the time of installing the lift. I guess theyll bend after lifting. I found that skyjacker makes an adjustable track bar, and tuff country makes one thats suitable for up 8 inches of lift, if i remember correctly. The stock track bar is 3/4" thick and the tuff country one is an inch, im not positive about the skyjacker one.

It could have just been my imagination, but it has seemed that my trucks front end had gotten a bit lower lately, then this happen, and its obviously lower now.

X2 on the drop mount, if you don't have one already, get one. If you lift your truck that much and don't do anything to level the track bar your housing will shift laterally as it cycles up and down
