Ok guys here is the situation.

I recently acquired this truck and the last two (only) times I have filled it up fuel pukes out all over the ground. This is very embarrassing and messy. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Can You guys tell me what to look for and what I might do to fix it.

You will have to look and see where it is leaking from. Your only choices are a split in the tank, leaks at the hose/fittings and fuel sending unit.

If you cant locate it you may want to seal off the filler neck and apply no more then a couple (2psi) of psi of air to the tank and take soapy water and look for bubbles.

If you mean while you are pumping fuel, it burps fuel all over the ground that is normal unless you perform the harpoon mod on it.

I guess I should have been more clear. It burps out from behind where you fill or stick the fuel nozzle in the neck. It does not blow back out of the filler neck.
There are not fuel leaking that I can see. This happens so only at fill up.

Look underneath, I bet the hose clamps are loose.

Ok

I finally got to climb under. It appears that the last owner cut
the small hose next the fuelling hose. They put in a "T" and that is where I think the fuel is burping out. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Before I put a cap or something on it I wanted to get y'alls thoughts.

For goodness sakes, cap it off. It's an open pathway for dirt, road grime, etc. to find its way into your fuel tank.

Can do..........

I am not good at looking at something and being able to tell what size it is. Do one of you guys know the size?

It sounds like there was an in-bed tank/toolbox at one time. Is there any signs of this in the bed? The previous owner may have yanked the tank and neglected to button up the tubing. I believe some of the transfer type tanks use the ventline to move fuel to the main tank.

The hardline measures out as 3/4" OD.

Thanks

I'll get a replacement piece.
I'm guessing when I plug this up it will take three days to fill the tank. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/vomit.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif
There are no signs of another tank. I see no holes anywhere.

You could get a piece of fuel line a couple of feet long that fits on the T and just run it out and up. It would prevent the fuel from leaking, and still give you a vent for filling up... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif
