What technique do you use to re-attach the intake hose to the intake elbow? Tried pushing them together with the elbow in one hand and the hose in the other. No go. Hard to get leverage while squatting over the engine with one foot on the inside of the drivers side fender and the other just forward of the radiator.

Tried re-bolting the elbow to the intake manifold and using two hands to push the hose. No go.

There is a groove and ridge that I can't seem to get past. Any tips, besides hitting the gym? Like to get this done this afternoon. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Did you loosen the clamp?

Yeah, what the doctor said. That clamp has to be loose as a prom date or you won't get the plastic hose over the elbow. Once you get the plastic hose to slide on, feel for the ridge to slip into the groove on the elbow. Don't go beyond that. Once there, crank the clamp down.

Good luck,
Brian.

Yes, I had the clamp loose. Maybe not loose enough. Had a buddy swing by the house and between the two of us and a pair of channel lock pliers (on the elbow tab & the hose tab), we got it on. Thanks for the tips. Hopefully, I don't ever have to take that apart again.

Just to satisfy my curiosity, why did you have the upper CAC tube off? BTW - I wasn't trying to be a wise guy about the clamp. It seemed like a logical thing to ask because that tube shouldn't be that hard to get on. I sometimes overlook the obvious myself, like a clamp. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

I removed the metal elbow to drill & tap for a boost gauge. Looked simple enough, 4 bolts & a hose clamp.

LOL!!! Some of my biggest nightmares have started out that same way! "Ah, this should be a snap to complete..." Heh, then you find out that you just opened Pandora's Box.

Glad you got the IC tube back on.

Happy Truckin,
Brian.
