I A/C quite on me today and I can’t get it to start back up, /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/vomit.gif No fan all I hear when I turn it on is a small hissing noise that goes away about 15 seconds after it on. Do you guys have any idea on what this could be? Please help it’s starting to warm up around here.

Did you check fuses to see if you blew the fan fuse?
Fuse 22 - Blower Motor Relay Coil
Fuse 24 - A/C clutch

These are in the fuse panel under the steering wheel.
H-m-m-m....Does the fan work on any other setting than air conditioner? You could try wiggling the connector on the back of the compressor, if you haven't done that already. There used to be a way to bypass the low-pressure switch on the compressor by shorting across the 2 wires on the compressor plug harness (the low pressure switch). At least, that was the way it worked on GM cars.
But if the fan does not blow on any setting, then it sounds like something else. I had to have my air conditioner charged up 1 1/2 years ago, but it has been fine ever since. I never liked F*rd's double 0-ring freon line connections. They have a tendency to wear flat and start a slow leak. Could be all you need is a freon charge.
