Hope you guys out their can help me. I have a truck cap on my truck, and want to put my Harley in the back of the truck, problem is that the cap is too low to put bike in bed. do they make any sides that i can put on bed rails then bolt cap on top of that? i need to raise it at least 12 inches. I thought of making some with some 12 inch aluminum channel, but after looking at the price of 12" channel aluminum, thought i would ask you guys first. I have been looking on line for something like that but with no luck. My cap is fiberglass but a aluminym or glass bottom frame should work, if they make such a thing.

I've had a leer fiberglass cap for years, the worst part is taking it on and off, have a pulley system in my head to do that, just have to make it a reality.
12" is a big lift.

I guess it depends on if you'll be hauling the bike regularly or not.
If it's a one time thing, I'd try to make something work with 2x12 lumber.
If it's something you're going to do often, well, I think it's time to see your local camper top dealer and trade up to one that's that tall. It may hurt your mileage with that much more frontal area, but heck, the bike will be happy, and so will you, so whats a little MPG?

Will it fit if you remove the windshield? Maybe it's time for a trailer? Just some thoughts.
