Like it says, I was on the turnpike, ran up to about 100mph for approx 2 minutes. Slowed back to about 70mph for about 2-3 minutes when truck started running really rough, wouldn't sustain 60mph. Pulled over and checked the obvious stuff... boots, oil spilled, water in oil, belts... nothing obviously wrong.
The truck runs like an old roofing truck. Only other obvious problem is the pyro gauge was stuck at 200 Degrees and wouldnt move. then went to 600 degrees and doesnt move. I looked and pyro is still stuck in manifold. I'm thinking maybe the turbo wheel came apart and took out the sensor??? I'm going to go outside and start taking things apart.

If you have any suggestions... I'll be back in about 30 minutes.

P.S. if you live out here in Loxahatchee, I could use someone out here smarter than me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Thanks...

if it will just barely stay running, you may want to take a look at the under valve cover harness clip... it was part of my problem not long ago. (if you haven't done it already!) with mine the SES light came on, but no codes... hope this helps...

[/ QUOTE ]Is the pyrometer pre turbo or post turbo?

Any change in the amount of blow-by through the oil fill tube?

Thanks for the fast reply. Pre-turbo, in the drivers side exhaust manifold. Just pulled it out, it is intact. Pulled the boot off the intake side of turbo, wheel spins freely without noise... it's clean and intact on intake side.
There is a slight, almost un-noticeable amount of blow-by in dipstick tube, not enough to seem alarming. I wouldn't have noticed it if I wasnt looking for it.

Also, only light is the little engine shaped light in lower left corner of dash. This has come on in past without any problems. Usually just goes out. No codes???

Ive read about this before. It almost seems like something trivial... in other words theres no big oil puddle, no harsh noises, just running like crap.

I gues I'll be taking off the valve covers. Is there any way to check these without taking off everything, or am I going to be emtying out the engine compartment?

You may be able to help narrow it down to one side or the other by unplugging the injectors on the valve covers one at a time. One side will have less of a effect on the way it runs...Though usually the UVCH 's will set a SES....
