I'm new so if this post is in the wrong spot let me know. My friend has a 96 PS with the evolution programmer. We just got the edge ez module and with it in, it goes to about 45 and acts like its governing out. We sent the first module back, edge said it was probably defective, got the second tonight and same thing. Without the module, it runs great. From what the directions said, we plugged it in to the plug on the front of the drivers side valve cover. Are we gettin a bad connection somewhere, the truck runs fine with the stock connections, or is it something I'm missing. I own a dodge so I'm out at third base on helping him. Thanks for any help you guys might have.

It may be that the EZ is exceeding the HPOP capacity when combined with the EVO. The EZ boosts the injection oil pressure and the EVO probably does, too. The HPOP on these early PSDs can be really marginal on capacity. Try the EZ with stock programming and see if it works. The EZ is an expensive 10k mod and I've seen at least one truck that ran out of injection oil pressure at just a bit under 10k with stock tuning. I don't know what pressure boost the EZ makes but it is quite possibly too much for his truck with tuner.

Talked to my friend some today, I haven't made it over to his place yet. He said last night on the way home it would throw the check engine light and take off but only for a few seconds. He flashed his codes today and got a P1111, which from what I've found means no PCM trouble codes. He said the connectors are kind of oily, is that possibly the problem? Like I said, I don't really know anything about his truck other then the basics so if anyone has some advice it would be appreciated. That plug on the valve cover is the ICP correct? I can't understand how the evolution works on the 100 horse setting but the ez won't work without the evolution. The ez is set on 60 horsepower.
