So I am buying a banks sidewinder turbocharging system from someone on the forum. I have two pictures of everything I am getting (paying for). I am buying boost and EGT gauges seperate... BTW My question to all of you guys is: From these two pictures, does it look all the installation parts are there, if not can I order just the nuts/bolts/screws/ect.. in a kit. Is it missing any MAJOR pieces? Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

Sorry to say it but you are missing plenty. First off the cast iron up pipe from the exhaust manifolds that the turbo mounts to is not seen in the picture. Neither is the rear mounting brackets or the glow plug mounting plate. You also need some heat wrap for the down pipe that I don't see either. Banks may have the parts but they are discontinuing the sale of these turbos and parts. Give them a call.

Hi Zack,
I see what he is saying I will call Banks I looked in the book. I have no Idea what the cost will be but I will email them the picture of what was removed from the truck and ask them what is needed for you. They are probably not in today but I will try. I will mail you the reply from them I have the part #s from the book but I want to be positive as to what you need. Only fair to you. This way I will feel better about selling price to you.
If no answer today I will do it at 7 AM tomorrow morning Calif. Time. Also my son is on his way soon I will have him look in the truck to see just to be sure. I knew about the heat wrap that is on the truck for sure I have seen it and the piece in the back by the firewall. I will tell them that is still on the truck. When thay tell me the parts you will need and the price I will get to you Right Away.

Thank you for taking the time to tell Zack about the parts he needs for the Turbo Charger. I will take care of this for him and send the information on that I receive back from Banks with all the parts needed and the prices only fair. I am sure the mechanic that removed the turbo left itmes on the pipe. Will help him out and if to costly he is not obligated to purchase it from me/ not my style. I would not like this to happen to me. He did the right thing by asking on the forum. I told him this is what I had and that I had no Idea about anything else I am not a mechanic.
Again Thanks

Does anyone have any of these Banks Turbo pieces they could sell me for cheap, so that I don't have to buy them brand new straight from banks. 360 dollars for a mount and 100 for a pipe 1ft long seems expensive haha.
Here are the missing parts and part numbers I need:
#5 pn 92853 clamp #6 94283 hose

#17 52102 pipe

#24 52158-00 turbo casting mount.

#31 63042 probe

#35 92837 clamp

#51 94507 hose

#57 93153 0-ring

#58 92816 clamp

#59 94044 hose

#65 52147 bracket

#69 94042-00 adaptor

26002 heatshield 7x24

26004 heatsheild 3x16

Thanks guys.

You might be able to cross the heat shields off your list. When I did my turbo upgrade (ATS) I removed all the factory heat shielding and when I asked the guys at ATS they said it wasn't mandatory to put it back on. They did say that header wrap was okay to use on the down pipe but I haven't had any heat related issues. Not sure you have to have it on the Banks system.

Yeah that kind of stuff I figured I wouldn't NEED on there.
I don't know if I will have any heat issues or not. But, I DO know I don't plan on heat wrapping anything. MAYBE my down pipe.

Lol yeah sorry, I have been pretty busy. I worked on my truck all weekend, but finally got it running last night- had to take a 1/2 day off work to fix my 'Lucky Mod' flywheel, and put a new clutch in it while I was in there.

No, it is not a wastegated banks, unfortunately. If you'd still like pictures, I'll get some for ya.

Yeah man get me some pictures and who knows! And, yeah tell me about it. I had to install my glow plugs on a hot motor the other day and my truck still is not starting right.
I think I need to check what controls my glow plugs. Gonna put a light tester on each glow plug, even though they are brand new the truck wont start right at all. Getting a little white smoke on revs now too.

What condition is your glowplug harness in?
Also, does your wait to start light stay on for 8-10 seconds when it's cold out? Since you live in Florida, it will probably normally have a shorter glow time.
Also, you should notice the voltmeter in the dash drop a little when they kick on, or if it's night time, turn the dome light on, then your ignition. You should see them dim a bit when your glow plug relay kicks in.

Glow plug harness? I am not familiar with glow plug accessories being this is my first diesel. and, have never really learned a whole lot about them. I can't say because here in the sunny south of florida it doesn't really GET cold haha. Lowest temp the past couple weeks was probably like 60 degrees. And, that's at night. I can hear the click that they make when they turn on. And, for some reason my wait to start light doesn't come on after I put in these new glow plugs. Very strange and very aggravating. 100$ worth of plugs and the truck still doesn't start right. The glow plugs that were in there were deffinitely done though.

You probably unhooked the wire on the relay that runs to the wait to start light by accident. I forget which one it is on there, but someone else will chime in.

On second thought, I think that wire is hardwired into the glow plug controller (on the bottom of the relay, inside the plastic housing)...
