I have an F250 that I bought to pull and airstream, and it came with a Reese hitch. I have noticed there is a little too much sway when I am traveling in windy conditions, and feel uncomfortable with it. I have since decided to buy a Hensley or ProPride, but am not sure which one is better.
Please give me your thoughts on pros and cons of both, or personal experiences.

If the Reese has anti-sway provisions already operating properly and you still feel uncomfortable because of instability, I would check-out the trailer for problems. The Airstream should not sway and should not need a superhitch that is not needed even for less tow-friendly trailers. A $2500 hitch might make it seem more stable, but there could be problems with the trailer that can come back and bite if it's not corrected.

If the Reese came with the classic friction sway bar and there is only one, I would add another one and make sure they are tightened properly. It should cost maybe $50 for the addition bar and related fittings.

That said, if I were investing that much in a hitch, I would get the ProPride. It is a later design by the same man (Hensley) and thus has some (albeit probably minor) upgrades.

I used to have a Hensley for a 30' TT. Now have a fiver. Based on what I have read on several RV forums, the PP is the equal, or better, than the Hensley and quite a bit cheaper. Go ProPride.

A Hensley or a Pro Pride are much better than any hitch that has a friction sway control. Those are inferior. Even a well setup trailer will tow better and be safer with the better hitch.

The Pro Pride has some improvements over the Hensley.

I see this an old thread, but I just found it. FWIW, I've been towing the same 36 ft, 10,000 pound trailer with a Hensley Arrow for 20 years. I replaced all components 2 years ago under their lifetime warranty, and all it cost me was shipping. I know nothing about the PP, but I would never have anything other than a Hensley. When it's perfect, easy hook up, and no sway, why change?

The Pro Pride was also designed by Jim Hensley. It has a few improvements over the Hensley. Either one is a great choice.
