Day before yesterday as I got up to cruising speed truck jerked like it died. Just once, then went right back to normal. Been fine since. SEL showed new code 1247. Low boost detected? All boots are fine so whats next? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The hiccup may not have set that code. Do you have a boost pressure gauge? When my CPS started going out it would hiccup once every few days and over time it would occur more often.

I need to calibrate my Scan Gauge II to read boost. I was worried it might have to do with the diesel purge I am running right now as I never tried that before and was only 50 miles into the tank. Never had a boost code before. If it happens again I will put one of my spare CPS in. Truck is running alot better than before.

BOOST

TXD: C410F1221440

RXF: 046285140640

RXD: 3010

MTH: 001D0050FF6D

NAME: BST

MAX: 27 psig stock package

NOTE: I would start with the last four digits of MTH as FF6D since Moss Point is at about 15' Elevation. This should give you a BST value of 0.0 with Key On & Engine Off (KOEO).

If its off a little then we can tweak it.

Thanks driver I still have my book so I will set it up this evening. I think I messed up XXXX last time so reading is off. I thought you had to compare it to EBP reading? Right now I cruise at 2-3 and mak at 14

I edited the post above basing the XXXX on your elevation of 15' above sea level which should be FF6D

It should be set independent of any other reading and you will know it is the right value when it is 0.0 (this might fluctuate +/- 0.1 depending on if you have a storm front coming.)

At 200' elevation the XXXX will be FF6E.

Thank you again Driver. Boost now reads 0.0 KOEO So far I am running AVG 4.0 @65 MPH and 7.0 @ 75 MPH. Max is 14.2 on hard accel. Normal driving it only builds to 10 before dumping @ shift points. Now I have a new problem. 1280 popped up last night. ICP. I had to replace my ICP when I rebuilt oil cooler. Truck would just shut off while I was doing flush. Wouldnt fire up till ICP was unplugged. New one and all is well. Now I get this code and think new ICP went out as well. I believe it is in default mode as it never drops below 727 ICP and 14.1 IPR now the old ICP usually idled at 8 IPR and 475 ICP. New ICP is clean and dry as is harness. Any ideas? Thanks again.

Did you replace your ICP with genuine Motorcraft Part?

There have been several threads about after-market Sensors going bad shortly after install or even just out of the box.

Well maybe some guys with more experience can offer a better suggestion but I would be inclined to try a new ICP. If that is the issue then you might pre-order a FoMoCo for the next time :winking:

I think Tousley AutoNation Ford had them for around $140 a couple months back.

Good luck Wolf

That can be IPR tin nut but icp, CPS and chaffered wire can also be

If you have a chip, make sure the chip is well connected.

Looks like another example of an aftermarket part with a high failure rate.

Was it always like this in the US? Or did this become commonplace when we started outsourcing everything to China 20 years ago with Clinton signing NAFTA/GATT trade agreements that he said would "help America".

I don't remember having problems with aftermarket parts 15-20 years ago as long as they were reputable.

No 20 years ago parts were a lot better. Thats why I try to only buy from places that have a good warranty when I buy aftermarket parts. Even some "OEM" parts are junk and most won't give you a free replacement. Thanks again for all the help.
