I recently upgraded my truck from a 6.4L to a 6.7 and I am looking to put headlights on it. I have read mixed reviews about both HID and LED headlights. Has anyone put HID or LED headlights and fogs on their 6.7?

What are better, HID or LED?
What is a reputable brand to order?
What is all required in the kit? (are the warning cancelers needed)?

I bought a set of aftermarket headlamps that were a replica of the stock Ford lights. I then purchased a retrofit kit from the Retrofit Source and put in a set of HIDs. For me this was a difficult project but the results were fantastic. The light output is simply amazing. The picture below is the the lights on low beam - no fog lights turned on. And they look really cool too.

I have no experience with LEDs so I can't comment on those.

If you want to do it right, I would do what FX4driver did. Purchase a set of replicas and either have your stock modified and use the replicas while they are shipped out or ship the replicas out. Once you have the modified set, sell the other pair to recoup some cost.

Here's a couple pictures of what one of the lights looks like. You can also buy them already made from a place like Black Flame Customs. I had them in my last truck too and I did them myself both times.

This time I went with a better projector. It made things more difficult as the cutting of the reflector housing and aiming of the projector was a pain. The last ones just fit right in with no modification to the reflector. These give off better light than the others but they were quite good too.

The stock headlights completely suck. The LEDs in the 2017 will be a big improvement I'm sure.
