I got my HIDs today and began to install them. Seems like im going to need some relay harnesses though because the headlights wont come on at all and the fog lights only come on when the truck is running.
How many here who have installed HIDs in their 08+ needed the relay harness?

I only have them in the headlights for now but i have issues sometimes one wont turn on. But when the fogs are on they wont come on at all. Maybe try running with the fogs off and then the headlights should turn on, I was told some trucks have to have a relay kit to work right.

one thing i am going to try first is replace the fuse with a slightly bigger one.

Are you guys using the plug and play connectors? If the HIDs won't turn on it's because they can't pulse enough amperage to them fast enough. They are really high amps for the first split second then drop way down. I used the gay plug and play connectors when I first got mine, and they just wouldn't allow them to figure up. I eventually installed some relays and hard wired everything and now it's fine.

Hey guys. I bought plug and play HID kits for both my head lamps and fog lamps. It took me longer to take the screws out for the head lamp housings then to actually hook up both systems. I plugged them in as you are supposed to and I havent had any issues with the head lamp or fog lamps turning on at the same times or different times. This is new for me to hear that they wont work properly. What kind of kit did you get and was it a new one or a used one and what came with the kit. The kit should come with the adapter plug going from the stock bulb harness to the HID ballast and then a set of wires going from the ballast to the HID bulbs.
