01 7.3 Has been running like crap It has been blowing tons of whitish grayish smoke and will just die no reason. went to change fuel filter and had very high pressure in it. It took all i could do to get the cap off and when got almost off fuel came blowing out. Any ideas what this could be???

The FPR should be releasing the pressure when it is not running (top fuel line fitting on the fuel bowl, drivers side). Could be that the FPR is clogged and you are getting full, un-regulated fuel pump pressure to the injectors.
Careful when removing or installing this fitting as it is easy to snap off the housing's threaded portion of the FPR.
