On the 01, 3800psi at WOT. I love it! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

On the 95, 3300psi at WOT. I am still playing with programs to get more(tonight actually /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif) /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

Bullriddin, what are you seeing? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

You would have to do some work on the stock pump pressure relief valve if you expect to see over 3800, unless you just supply more volume than it can physically dump it would seem.

But unless you've worked with the oil side of those injectors you're "clearing the smoke" for all the wrong reasons. Or I guess, unless someone else took care of the issue for you. Otherwise, there's a good reason to stop at say 3100 or so.

Just my thoughts though, as always to each his own.

Where do you stop, we can mount an external hydraulic pump and develop 10000 psi, Do we need that much??

In this case bigger is not always better..

See the guy who is developing TOO much HPOP pressures right now..on the other thread.

Well 10,000lbs would be a bit much. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif You would need a small engine and a drum of oil in the bed of your truck to run that! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

I guess I need to go find the Too Much Oil thread /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/phoney.gif!

The real question is psi vs gpm. what do the Big Oil uints provide in psi and gpm. I have a pump/resevoir at work that is 10,000 psi, holds a gallon of oil and is less than 1 cu. ft. Don't know GPM off top of head, but it is a posibility and not a wild idea to have remote pump fed by LPOP.

Now that's a good question! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif Hybrid? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Hybrid said:[ QUOTE ]
(And 3600 on the rail to an A-code is far from having a confirmed 25,000+ psi actual injection pressure.)

Please give us your definition of far. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

I had written an entire post basically describing how elevated ICP was very powerful in some instances and actually a drawback in others, but that I did not feel it to be detrimental to anything other than flow rate at the very most, and then only if improperly used.

I was using the 6oh system as a model to illustrate how childish we look screaming about 3600 and 3800 psi considering the capability of their system in stock form.

But then again, you don't have a spool valve either Joey. So unless hypermax or someone else took care of the problem for you, or you understand this fully and I'm just beating a dead horse here, you are "clearing the smoke" with elevated ICP for all the wrong reasons. The simple fact that two little stock pumps can even maintain pressure of 3800 psi on your rig tells me that someone did in fact take care of your injectors, but not everyone elses injectors.

For someone who is running a standard set of injectors, like your standard stage II's or hybrids, or mini-me's...........whatever combination you want........if the issue of elevated ICP hasn't been adressed fully, you can plan on losing hp if you try to crank it up as Joey makes it seem. Oh, you'll "clear it up" but it woln't be because of atomization.

Just my thoughts. Everybody stay calm, nothing new. Just a couple old cents here or there.

I deleted my original post because it looked like it might cause a remote issue, I'd like to think not but I'm looking forward to keeping the tone positive.

Thanks

How does elevated icp cause a loss of power and what do you think has to be done to correct it?

I saw the Red Racer run in Baytown last fall. Woods has the icp cranked up so much that it pops like my buddy's alcohol dragster. I assume they also have a long pulse width too because he was still burning a couple of feet past the end of the pipes. I am curious how much icp they are running and want to know, besides the pump setup, what are the limiting factors on the 7.3's. With air being so limited on the 7.3's, it makes injection pressures that much more important.

The injectors are one of the problems....the 6.0 has a much better injection system

If you know something I'm waiting to hear, otherwise saying the injectors are the problem really is a worthless rebuttal.
