I got mine when the EU2000 first came out from Northwest Power Tool in Wa. state. Best price at the time. Other good ones are www.mayberrys.com/camping www.hicklinpower.com There's also Ball Power Equip in Kansas City, Mo, www.sunent.com These are all regular advertisers in Trailer Life Mag.

I've seen this a lot and have never ask, but why buy two 2000's when one 5000 would work ?? Am I missing something ??
Also, it seems one is easier to transport than two ??
I'd appreciate the reasoning.. Because I was going to get one 5000..
Thanks

I think the weight (46#) has something to do with consumer preferences...Plus you can use EU2000 singularly or hook them up together..and get about 30AMPS which is what most RVs require. Plus they are super quiet. I'm not sure on the AMPS on the 5000 but the shear size/weight of the unit would be a problem for me..just my .02..

Take a look at the weight on the 5000..also the 2000 is half as noisy /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

The big advantage is the EU2000's only weigh about 53 pounds, one guy can lift two of them anywhere and they fit in a toolbox, etc. If a guy doesn't care about portability or weight and wants a permanent mount then the 5000 might be the way to go.

Same here and if you're a President's Club member (like $25 for the year and you can sign up at the store) you can get an extra 10% on top of that /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

As already mentioned you can parallel them when needed, but I've been using a 2000 dry camping for about 3 yrs and it will run everything except the A/C. Not all at once, but for the size, wt., noise it's so convenient I even carry it in the Van when traveling when I don't even see a need for it camping , ust to have if ever needed even along the side of the road for repairs, etc. A small playmate ice box almost has a bigger footprint than these little 2000EUs.

My 1st gen set was a MQ 6kw with a 5gallon tank, VERY loud, VERY heavy, and drank lots of fuel (5 gal. lasted approx 4-5 hours). Since I got the honda EU 2000 I sold the big unit and planned on getting another EU 2000 to hook them up together when we need that much power. The EU 2000 runs for approx 12 hours on 1 gallon of fuel, VERY quiet (can not hear it running even when sitting right under the trailer), and very portable (47 lbs dry), easy to store just about anywhere. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

If you get a 'cheap' brand 5000 watt gen set, please don't camp within 3 miles of me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've settled on the Honda EG3500...
Rather than buy two 2000's I'd rather have one big enough to do the job.
And it's quiet enough.....laffin......
Different strokes for different folks...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/warmsmile.gif

Just realize at rated load that EG3500 is 4 to 5 times as loud as the 2000 and I'm not familiar with the type of voltage regulation it uses, but I've found some of the non "inverter" type gensets the voltage can vary quite a bit tending on the low side and depending on what sort of charger you have do a poor job of recharging your trailer batteries. My 2000 puts out a steady 123V and running all the interior lights, recharging the batteries and powering two TVs, a satellite dish and VCR it stays in the "econo mode" with is really, really quiet ... probably around 6 to 8 times the lowest noise level of the EG3500. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I can have it sitting under an open window and can hardly hear it in the "econo mode".

Once filled that EG3500 is going to weigh close to 150lbs /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif.

But as you said "Different strokes for different folks...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/warmsmile.gif" and it's sorta like having a BTS tranny, until you've been there and done that it's hard to put into words why so many of us like these little Honda 2000s. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif

I just bought a Yamaha EF2400I. Small, compact, quiet and will run a 13,500 roof air. A honda 2000 will not do that. Just another option.
