Is hood insulation standard on an 06 Superduty....it's an XL and I don't have any. Thanks

My wifes 05' Excursion doesn't have the hood insulation either, nor the turbo pipe insulation and didn't even come with an under hood light and it's an Eddie Bauer Exc, She complains that my 03' which has all kinds of insulation is quieter that hers (and it is) even in the cab the Excursion has a lot more noise. I noticed the newer models they started leaving the insulation and other things off. I am going to put the hood insulation on her truck and probably dynamat the inside to quiet things down.

You may not "need" it, But if you have ever had it, you would want it. My 03 is soo much quieter in the cab than even my 04. Never mind the later models. All you hear is the whistle from the straight piped 03 turbo. Sounds like a semi comming up behind you.
