as i was making my way down rt 15 a doge pulled up next to me and he went for it so i chased after him(cought him quick /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smokin.gif) we were makin passes on eachother full out for a while and i i wasnt paying attension to my egts. a good few exits went by and i noticed an interesting smell like rubber or somthing i don't know. looked at my egts and the alert was goin off and i was up around 1250. i don't know how long i was there so i got off the next exit the truck cooled right down and the smell went away. i checked underthe hood and nuthing was glowing haha and the motor was runnin fine. i was thinkin maby it was the belts makin that smell but it could have been anything. i blew the boost line off my gauge a few days ago at 25 pounds and so i didn't know wat my turbo was doing. its hit 30 befor so i know its capable of gettin damagad.


bottomline you guys think i messed anything up bad with those egt numbers? and where do u think that smell was coming from??

You are probably fine. 1250 isn't that bad. You were probably burning some oil off of the turbo or something similar when it got hot.

had mine up to about 1500 for about 45 sec ...all is well....that smell ...go look at your spare tire.....mine has a 3 inch circle burned into it pretty deep too.....
