Since I have a 2004 and wired up the switches myself (because it isn't an '04 option) I think I can help.

The upfitter harness plug that plugs into the back of the fuse box (connector k) on the drivers side is comprised of several wires that are hot at all times (4 of them) a wire for illumination (typical light blue with red stripe) and the culprit you are looking for is the Violet and Orange wire in Pin position 4. That bugger is hot only when ignition is in run. (does not work in acc mode either). If you were to cut that wire and tap another hot wire, you would effectively be hot at all times on your switches.

HEY JACK, HOW DID U HOOK UP YUR LIGHTS? I HAVE THE UPFITTER MODULE AND IM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHERE TO TAP IN AT. DO U JUST BOLT YUR LIGHTS ON,RUN THE HARNESS THROUGH THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND HOOK INTO THE BACK OF THE UPFITTER SWITCH? DOES ANYTHING HAVE TO BE HOOKED TO THE BATTERY FOR POWER? THNX
