July 9th – Saturday – BBQ and Camping at Lake Somerville

Like last year, HAPS will be in the area of the pavilion (GP1) at Rocky Creek Park. The closest camping spots are numbers 196 - 203. These spots are available for rent (first come basics) through www.reserveusa.com. HAPS will make a long day/weekend of BBQ'ing, boating and swimming. There will be lots of shade under the trees and tents. Bring the family, friends, boats, jet ski's and campers. Lake Somerville is just over an hour from NW Houston. It is easy to make a day trip out of it.

Do bring your own drinks and chairs.

When:
July 9th, starting around noon.

Where:
Lake Somerville's Rocky Creek Park Pavilion Area

Directions:
From Houston or Austin take US 290 to Brenham. Follow Hwy 36 north 11.5 miles to FM 1948. Turn left on FM 1948 and go about 5 miles to the park entrance

I'll bring breakfast for Saturday morning. We'll leave the house about 9am, so we should be there around 10 or so. Have the coffee ready and I'll have the meal.

Also, I'll bring the meat for lunch/dinner and all the fixins. I think its time for the famous Weber chicken.

Brandan and Larissa are suppose to be riding up there with Leah and I.

We will be there around the same time. We can run to a store when we get there for the dinner Friday night. I'll have my big cooler for drinks (beer) and ice.

Another great day. Good company and good food. A lot of people spent the day in the lake. Thanks to all that came out. Thanks to Mark W for the famous grilled chicken. Like all the times in the past, it was great.
Pictures can be seen HERE

Now on to Indy, then HAPS 4th annual Truck Show.

Yes it was a good time, and I would like to thank Rocha and his family for there willingness to tow my 5th wheel back to my house if I needed it (the clutch made it home). That to me shows what kind of great people we have here as friends. Thanks Mark.
