Tire Size... How big can I go on stock wheel stock suspension.

I know that 15"rims will not clear the rotors. I have 285/75R16's {33's} on my 2002, but not on stock rims. I tried to mount them on my stock rims, but they kept falling off the bead when i went 4wheeling. I decided to buy some 16x8 beadlock rims from centerline. They look great and i can go to 35's if i decide. Just my .02
