I bought a 2000 x at auction. One key and no door combo. How can I get the original code without paying someone? I've searched but found nothing else in here about this problem.
And I just :icon_mad: fixed my door locks doing the alumunum foil thing. I didnt see a receiver but wasn't looking for one either. I dont know what it iis or what it does anyway. This is for the code they give you on the card right? I plan on putting a viper on this but would like the code anyway so I can let it idle with the keys in and the door locked. Could you elaborate on the receiver please?
I don't have one on my truck ,,but my explorer has one , it was in the L R panel , inside the car,,call the dealer & ask where it is located . it will have the code printed on the unit ...
The vsm is located behind the radio as per ford factory wiring diagram, I installed the ford one (which is actually a code alarm system)w/remote start, will see if i still have pic should be the one you are looking for I think. As for the programing since i did not have the install instructions called # on box which was 1800 FORD KEY very helpful also help to program unit over the phone( I'm not a dealer nor Ford mechanic)
I have a 2002 excursion. mine was difficult to find. once i took off the small panel that has the small hook for a garbage bag, i found it way up there in the dash. i first pulled my radio and it was not visible. mine was way deep up there in the dash and it was not visible by pulling the radio out. i almost gave up but i found it. white sticker and everything. thanks for the great info guys! i am glad i found it myself and i did not have to pay some crook on ebay!
