can i lift the frame off of a dana 50 front end, without the drop brackets?

the old springs are ready to come out, and they only kept the front x off the frame by a few inches, how much clearance is there between the frame and x in stock form?

thanks guys!

if u install lift springs without the drop brakets for the inner mounts it will throw your front wheel alighnment way off. the front wheels will toe in slightly and have one helluva camber problem.

The ride height is probably about right. Even when new these trucks had very little front end travel. You can get a camber shim that will take you out about 2 degrees. I'd put that in first, and then raise it up with a jack and see what the distance is to make your camber right, and then put in springs that would provide that amount of lift.
