I know this has been gone over before and I searched the old posts but found nothing about an F250.

I am trying to figure out how much an empty 04 F250, 4x4, 6.0L, Crew Cab, short bed weighs. Anyone got a good idea?
Thanks,
Ed

With normal options, full tank of diesel, no driver or passengers, and with absolutely no mods such as bedliner or trailer hitch or toolbox or anything stored behind the back seat that Ford didn't put there:

7,150 to 7,200 pounds.

Add normal mods, toolbox full of tools and jack(s)s and extra fluids, cooler full of cool, driver and Sweetheart and maybe a big dog or kid in the back seat, and you're quickly over 8,000 pounds.

Smokey is about right.

I keep reading where people say their truck is 8000+ lbs without them in it.
I can't understand how it's that heavy without mods.

my 00 F250 CC SB 4x4 PSD auto is 7470 w/ winch and toolbox. (about 350 lbs added)

My 05 F350 CC LB 4x4 PSD is about 7430 (full fuel no driver). It's a loaded lariat w/ dual alts etc, though.

The DMV trying to beat you over the head with that "weighted" tag crap? What really gets me is these folks driving X's that run regular 4K LBS. tags and because you're in a truck they want you to run a weighted. Money racket!!

My 04 2WD CC shorty with chest type tool box, 1/2 tank of fuel and me out of it weighed 7220 lbs.
That was on a supposedly certified to within 20 lbs scale.
