So I was trying to find out how to drain the DEF tank. It’s over a year old, and not many miles; and I don’t trust the gauge.
Siphon hose stops before hitting liquid, as though there’s a screen or barrier.
Dealer said “just pull the three bolts and drop it” Yeah, not so fast.

There is a plethora of cables, plugs, hoses, etc. connected to the DEF tank. I could go slow and figure it out, but I’m sure this has been done before. I just can’t find the directions or YouTube video.

Anybody have the procedures or directions?

Thanks.

Why would you drain it out? Its been inside a dark tank under the truck. It doesn't get to hot under there. I bet the DEF is just fine. I don't ever fill mine till the truck says 500 till 50 MPH limit. That way the sensors get to read correctly. Your truck carries a couple more gallons than mine so the tank is very heavy. Mine was full when I changed my heater and I had to use a floor jack to drop the tank. There are a couple hoses on the top of the pump that haved clips. I am sure if you drop the tank slowley you will be able to unhook them. I believe you will have to remove the filler neck from the side of the truck. It comes out with the tank. Again I would just run the truck and leave the DEF alone.
