I have a 2004 F550 6.0 PSD Automatic w/Tow-Haul. How can I tell which transmission I have? I heard there are two different automatics possible. The plate on the tranny has a lot of numbers, but 'M6' is larger than the rest (?). I need to know to get the right transmission filter...

The Torqshift is the only stock automatic transmission avaliable that I know of.

That's what I thought, until I was at the dealer and my tranny filter was contingent upon WHICH 5-speed auto I had!?!

Anyone else?

Their is only one auto, they may have different pan/filter. If your dealer is listing more that one he should know the differences. There is two different inline filters, one factory & one Ford add-on.
